the le chéile education centre is a new home for the le chéile schools trust.

the new education centre takes its lead from this material context and from the client’s desire for it to feel like a ‘home’ for the wider trust community. the plan is simple - with offices along one side, a large meeting room and kitchen along the other, and a central top-lit corridor between. the form is a simple double-pitched volume, set between two gardens.

the office spaces overlook the first garden - a raised bed of wildflower, which foregrounds an expansive view over the school grounds. the large meeting room (which doubles as a reflective gathering space for the trust community) addresses the second garden - an introverted courtyard, backgrounded by the mature trees outside.
