our proposal for a new embassy building in tokyo creates an open landscaped space at ground level extending the public park across the road. this landscape, part japanese, part Irish is a shared cultural space for the city.

beneath this space the public facilities of the embassy are embedded into the landscape. above a large translucent glass roof contains the private spaces of the embassy and ambassador’s residence.
